The New York Mets Assistant General Manager Sandy Alderson put out a statement after Javier Baez and Fransisco Lindor booed the fans, giving the thumbs down gestures after a win. Hereโs what transpired.
The boss is quite unhappy, and it seems Baez is on the path to losing out on being a Mets player for long term thanks to yesterdayโs fiasco. Even Fransisco Lindor could be in trouble.
Baez really should have known better than to initiate a war with Mets fans. After all, these are New Yorkers. This is not Wrigley field or Chicago. While he may have had somewhat of a valid reason to be upset there is a saying โThe customer is always right.โ
Do you think Baez and Lindor feel any remorse about their actions? Absolutely not. However, there are consequences for everything in life.
Baez could very well have made a name for himself and became a fan favorite. Now, itโs almost impossible to see the fans respect these two young men because of the war they declared on Mets faithful.
All in all, Baez and Lindor sent a message. You cannot take back your words or actions, once itโs done itโs done. Message, delivered. Response? Get out of town. Put up or shut up.
