He’s literally the steal of the trade deadline. It’s king of the home run Apple to you, and, his strikeout percentage has dipped noticeably. It’s almost a given that someone else would show him the big bucks. So why not lock up your 4.5 WAR shortstop long term? Is it because you have to find a Right Fielder now? Letting a disappointing season Conforto go will loosen the load and burden of having to pay another guy a huge deal. So there’s that. Just acquiring Castellanos and Jon Gray, with the season Gray had his asking price should not be that high, or too high, but alone would suffice. Let’s get it done, shall we?
