NY Mets: Mets must make a move to ink Kris Bryant to mega deal

Having let Javier Baez slip away this off-season, it’s surely a priority, the Third Base position. Here’s why the New York Mets have to sign Kris Bryant to fill that void.

1. The numbers show Bryant has what it takes to win.

While Bryant may have declined in RBI’s, (22) he made up for it in home runs, (25) along with a .265 batting average and a 3.3 WAR.

While these numbers may not seem overly impressive, Bryant is a solid defensive player, and he can also play the outfield along with third base.

2. The Mets have not had a franchise third baseman since David Wright.

It’s vital that along with having a solid infield the hot corner of your infield is extra qualified, because the balls seem to be hit the hardest there.

Having a franchise third baseman such as Wright sure felt extra special.

Bryant is 30 years old and still has some years left to make a difference on a team needy for a qualified third baseman who can help play the outfield too. Let’s hope the Mets can see Bryant’s full potential and close the deal.
