NY Mets: For The Young Girls Who Dream of Working in Sports or Journalism

I was 12 years old when I started my Mets blog. Merely a 7th grader, not knowing how to write a professional article and scared that my opinions would be shamed and ridiculed by the grown men Mets fans who scoffed at anything Mets I had to say.

I would love to inspire all the young girls who were like me. You have this love for baseball, be it the Mets or some other team. You like to write. You want to be a journalist.

Anyone can start a blog. The true test is building a following and getting readers.

Your opinions matter! Everything you have to say is so important and you can make a huge difference in this world for the better just by starting and sharing your blog!

Would you rather be known for illegal crime activity and being in jails or being a blogger since the 7th grade with an ever growing following?

See? Itโ€™s a simple question.

As a grown woman, whoโ€™s blogged all her life, if I didnโ€™t have my blog, who knows the dumb stuff I could have done if not kept busy with my blog.

Iโ€™m glad an adult told me to start a blog!

I was beginning to get into mischief and boom. Blogging saved me.

I encourage you to channel everything you feel about something and put it into a respectful classy blog post.

Blogging isnโ€™t trashing someoneโ€™s character or saying โ€œYankees suckโ€

Although they do suck, thatโ€™s not what blogging is.

Blogging is your personal opinion against traditional wisdom. Respectfully.

Girls around the world. Now in the internet era. Now is your time to write your story.

In a world full of Kardashians, be the reporter and journalist covering their news articles.

Beauty fades. Intelligence is forever.

Get that laptop. Drink your coffee. Pick up that book. Get those grades up. Play that violin or sport.

Handle your business, graduate school, go back to school, get that job. The right partner will come much later in life. Donโ€™t chase him. You wonโ€™t find him until you are settled and on the right path.

To little Mikayla Scotlynd Littrell. You did an amazing job. I hope young girls will follow in your footsteps then and now.

    1. You got this! You are going to do amazing things! Keep your head held high, books and literature is your best friend! Knowledge is power! I canโ€™t wait to see you covering your Phillies on ESPN one day! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

      1. Thank you so much! I hope to be covering the Phillies one day. Are you interested in covering a team? If you are I am sure I can help you get in touch with the sportswriters. That’s how I started. I talked to Phillies Sportswriters before I started my blog.
