NY Mets: 3 Reasons Why Lindor Potentially Snubbed Of NL MVP Is Infuriating

The 2024 New York Mets most likely are where they are, which is the 2024 NLCS, because of Fransisco Lindor. Lindor, 30, is in the running for the MVP award this year. Although unlikely that heโ€™s going to win it, Iโ€™m going to explain why this is so infuriating and whatโ€™s stopping him.

  1. Shohei Ohtani let his friend take the fall in the sports gambling situation that unfolded this spring.

My argument is, I notice when 17.00 goes missing from my bank account. You could argue that they donโ€™t check it as often, but the story was so inconsistent and ever changing that Ohtani simply got away with this because of his interpreter being in the wrong place wrong time. Many other players would be rightfully graced with the ability to keep playing the game, but they werenโ€™t, because there was no one to shoulder the blame. Thatโ€™s a tough pill to swallow, Iโ€™m not saying itโ€™s okay to do, but the reality remains, if Ohtani had someone to set up to make him look innocent, thereโ€™s no way heโ€™s going to risk everything he has.

2. Heโ€™s a DH, for Christโ€™s sake.

Lindor plays defense, and real good defense at that. Itโ€™s amazing nonetheless how skilled Ohtani is offensively, but my argument stands. If youโ€™re not getting in the field, itโ€™s much easier for you to swing that bat. Take a seat, my guy, Lindor deserves this, because he does both and makes it look routine.

3. Lindor has defied the odds, whereas Ohtani had a full advantage going into this season.

Lindor, 30, started off cold but his 33 home runs and 91 RBIs, .844 OPS and .273 average speaks volumes unheard of. Fans declared this season dead by June. Lindor heating up was the turning point. He earned it, heโ€™s come back from ice cold to flaming hot to lead his team to the NLCS.

I donโ€™t know about you, but my choice for who wins the MVP is based on what I know about a leader on and off the field. Someone who has never compromised his integrity of the game or disgraced it with any scandals. Someone who gave his team everything in the toughest city to make it in.

So yes, believe me when I say it enrages me that Ohtani will likely win the MVP over Lindor.
