Lord Jesus, I know you’re listening. I know you’ve got “more serious” requests to tend to. However, for me, this is my serious request for tonight.
When it comes to this team, lord bless us with players who genuinely won’t do the wrong things on or off the field and instead are simply here to play because they love it here. Money talks, I’m aware this is a business. If it’s letting go of Pete Alonso, help me let go of the memories and extra respect that I have for him. Help me to not get so attached but root for the team on the front.
Since I’ve become a casual Mets fan, help me to watch more. Let my anger at this team fade. I used to love to watch them now I’m so fed up with their bullshit. Please lord renew my passion and love for the team on tv as a whole.
And lastly, let the Yankees fruits wither and their crops and trees bear no fruit. Those fans don’t deserve 28. Juan Soto did what he wants. Is this not America? It’s a free country, he wants to go to a winner let him.
