The 2026 New York Mets signed Shortstop Bo Bichette for 3 years and $126 million dollars yesterday, gutting the Phillies fansโ hopes and dreams. Bichette, 27, was one of baseballโs biggest free agency names, and hereโs why the Mets made a huge difference and solidified their infield.
Bichette joins an elite left side of the infield alongside SS Fransisco Lindor, a gold glove winner, and 2B Marcus Semien.
While the defense is completely solid, the offense is as well. Bichette in 2025 with the Blue Jays hit 18 home runs, 94 RBI, batted .311 with a .840 OPS and .357 OBP.
In 2024 he was injured, but his best year was in 2021, he hit 29 home runs with 102 RBI, batting .298 stealing 25 bases.
While he isnโt a base stealing threat now, he still remains a viable offensive option and a grade A defender.
