The New York Mets have seen it all: Between manager of the year favorite Luis Rojas making a head-scratching decision on the bullpen and Fransisco Lindor heating up in due time. Hereโs the inside scoop on Lindor youโve been asking for.
Lindor has 11 home runs and 36 batted in with a .227 batting average this season so far. While rotochamp projected much higher numbers for the star shortstop, his defense has been phenomenal.
However, thatโs not why the Mets are paying Lindor. Theyโre paying him to hit. He has a few homers in recent games so it suggests that heโs trending in the right direction. It could only mean Lindor hits solid after the ASG break- which is crucial if the Mets hope to continue pushing towards playoff contention talks.
To sum things up, Rotochamp may have projected slightly higher numbers for Lindor without taking into consideration the fact that heโs switching from the AL to the NL, causing a slight adjustment period where Lindor adapts to NL pitching.
Itโs easy to suggest a slight decline this season, however, I expect in 2022 a much more productive year despite 2021 looking highly in the Mets favor playoffs wise.
