NY Mets: Pros and Cons Of a Long Term Javier Baez Deal

The New York Mets are needy for offensive production; Owner Steve Cohen voiced his displeasure recently. Here is why Javier Baez could be the savior of this team.

We all know power hitters strike out a lot, but whatโ€™s to say Baez wonโ€™t hit 30-40 home runs and make stellar defensive plays? Baez had a huge night back, returning from the IL with a blast of his own.

So the pros? Home Runs by the dozens. A plus Defensive plays, whenever you want or need them. Excellent speed on the base paths and great base running.

The only downside to all these wonderful things, not a typo, is that Baez will literally chase pitches out of the strike zone, swinging at nearly anything and everything.

If you ask me, a strikeout is indeed a rally killer. But if you ask me again, it doesnโ€™t mean heโ€™s going to have back to back strikeouts. He could strike out the first at bat and homer in the next. Thatโ€™s Javy.

You get what you get, and you have to embrace him if you are a Mets fan, because this guy gets the whole team alive and up and winning in his epic return. What a difference one man makes.

Pay. The. Man.

Itโ€™s not rocket science.
