It’s not every day a managerial candidate like Mike Shildt is available. Here’s why the Mets need to urgently pick up the phone and extend their position to the newly jobless Shildt.
Shildt was recently fired over “philosophical differences” in a statement released by the Cardinals organization.
Shildt may not be a manager who relies on analytics much, and led the Cardinals to a huge 10 plus game win streak, 16 to be exact. It could be said without Shildt the Cards would NOT have reached the postseason. So credit given where credit is due.
The Mets need a long term option for management. It’s time to get this done!
