NY Mets: Now is the time to call up Ronny Mauricio

The 2023 fourth place, 58-66, .468 New York Mets have been playing better baseball lately, and while the season looks considerably confusing, one thing that remains hopeful is their prospects. Hereโ€™s a look at why infielder Ronny Mauricio should get the call soon.

Enter Mauricio, who is 22 years old and playing his best baseball for the Syracuse team. Mauricio obviously would not be a feature at shortstop, his natural position, because star SS Fransisco Lindor currently holds that down. While counterpart Brett Baty is a hopeful at third base, and rookie Fransisco Alvarez looks sharp at catcher, itโ€™s interesting and remains to be seen as to where he could play when he gets called up.

One question mark is most certainly not his bat. Mauricio has had quite a season, respectively.

In 457 at bats, heโ€™s batting .284, hit 20 home runs, has 65 RBIs, 21 stolen bases and a .822 OPS.

The team could wait until they are closer to the Wild Card as they are 6.5 games back and theyโ€™ve gone 6-4 in their last ten games. While the team is hot now, anything is possible.

Itโ€™s really a lot to think about however the team should think about calling up a guy who could learn a lot and help the team in a hopeful situation.
