Pete Alonso seems like he wants to bet on himself and earn that mega deal

For every home run Pete Alonso hits in 2024, he’s giving it back to an animal shelter for homeless dogs.

Now if that doesn’t scream two things- 1. I am going to have a monster year, and 2. Pete is really an amazing guy, all class and respect, I don’t know what will. One website suggested the team and Alonso are far apart on contract negotiations. Also keep in mind his agent is Scott Boras, a complicated man who draws the waiting process out for his clients.

It’ll be interesting for certain to see where Alonso and the Mets go in 2024. Keep in mind that the team isn’t expected to reach playoff contention until approximately 2026.
