The 2024 season definitely brings a lot of pressure for the Mets who exceeded expectations the past season. One big name who performed so well in 2023 was Kodai Senga. He put up a strong case for his first year in MLB with a 12-7 record, a 2.98 ERA with 202 strikeouts.
Obviously it’s going to be tough to top that when you’re projected for a totally normal sophomore slump.
I’m going to sip this Red Bull energy drink and blatantly say I hate to say it, but I’ve told you so in an earlier blog post that 2024 will spell trouble for Senga. I’m absolutely confident 2025 will be a rebound year, however. This just shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone is what I’m trying to say and prove my point backed up by years of statistical research.
