The 2023 New York Mets underperformed in various categories all throughout the year. From batting, fielding, baserunning, pitching and even managerial decisions, the team seemed to have had a chip on their shoulders. Hereโs 7 Mets who didnโt quite impress last season that are looking for better times this 2024.
1. Jeff McNeil
2. Brett Baty
3. Mark Vientos
4. Sean Manaea
5. Luis Severino
6. Joey Wendle
7. Starling Marte
While not everyone may see better times ahead, the fact remains that these 7 players really need to have a rebound season in order to benefit the team and their respective careers both.
For the new Mets such as Severino and Manaea, itโll be the adjustment that has to be taken into consideration as well in the beginning. For players such as Marte and McNeil, the calling for a rebound year is urgent and itโs now or never. All have something to prove this season.
