When your All-Star players are batting damn near .187 it is evident some folks will hit the panic button. Rest assured, we have seen seasons of Lindor’s uncertainty. Here is a few valid reasons why giving up on Lindor this season is completely absurd.
- There is so much baseball left to be played!
It is April, for goodness sakes! A slow start can be normal for the star SS. If you can recall 2021, Lindor’s first season in Queens, it was certainly dreadful. Lindor followed up a terrible 2021 with a solid 2022, followed by a massive 2023.
2. Slumps happen.
Part of baseball’s nature is that it is unpredictable. Nobody expected the 2015 Mets to go that hard, or the downfall of Mets SP Kodai Senga, whose impressive 2023 seemed to be a one hit wonder situation.
3. Players of Lindors caliber typically dont stay silent for long.
Theres levels of athetic ability in my eyes. You have fan favorite but tier 1 bosses, such as Wilmer Flores, former Met. He is a gap filler, but hes not essential or deemed a star player.
Then. Theres the tier 2 players. Guys like C Luis Torrens. Torrens can change the game with a swing, and his abilities at catcher are unmatched. He still is not a star, but you want him on your team. I know i do.
Theres Tier 3. That would be Lindor, Bo Biochette.
Tier 4, Generational talent. Juan Soto belongs here.
Lindor is one of those players who at his level of atheticsm there is no question what he can offer a team. You hav already seen his days in Cleveland and a few notable years in Queens.
Give it a few months. I will be here to say I told you so
