The 2024 fourth place, 18-19, .486 New York Mets are facing the second place, 23-12 .657 Atlanta Braves in a three game series this weekend. The Mets are dealing with quite a few questions surrounding their roster and the Braves have proved to be beatable contrary to popular belief this season, mostly due to injuries. Here’s 7 key Mets to keep an eye on during this explosive matchup.
1. Christian Scott, SP
2. Jeff McNeil, 2B
3. Brett Baty, 3B
4. Fransisco Lindor, SS
5. Pete Alonso, 1B
6. Brandon Nimmo, OF
7. Tomás Nido, C
There are many people excited to see one of MLB’s best prospects in Scott make his much anticipated Citi Field Debut. Alonso and McNeil are heating up and breaking out of their respective slumps, and Baty continues his bid to be a first time All-Star, which would be huge.
There is totally a lot good going on despite the standings and what they show. Stay tuned!
