The 2024 New York Mets really are on a mission, and everyone heating up deserves recognition. One Met in particular has earned the title of Player of the Month of August because he’s simply done an exceptional job. Let’s take a closer look.
One thing about players starting off on a rather cold note, is that sometimes, they rarely redeem themselves that year. To enter their name into the MVP conversation, however, that is no ordinary feat. That takes someone with extraordinary abilities and determination.
Fransisco Lindor is simply a man who gets the job done on the field, and is a leader off of it as well. His positive attitude and great energy radiates around the clubhouse, making the environment and feel of the clubhouse “warm and welcoming.”
His offensive abilities and knack of making spectacular plays at short look routine speak volumes as to what makes Lindor as a player one of the most exciting to watch.
This season alone, Lindor has simply set himself far apart from the rest of the competition. He’s perhaps the best player in MLB this season so far.
This season, Lindor, who has a 5.8 WAR, has hit 27 home runs and 78 RBIs, batting .269 with a .339 OBP.
This month of August, Lindor has hit 5 home runs, drove in 15 runs, batting .333 with a .377 OBP.
Lindor has earned my nod as player of the month of August, Mets baseball. He really also deserves much more than that. He deserves the recognition of MLB fans and the league as the NL 2024 MVP, but because Shohei Ohtani is the golden boy and the Tom Brady of our league, of course Lindor will get snubbed. In my eyes, he’s the MVP.
One day my Mets will get the love and respect they deserve. You can follow my blog and tell a friend that we appreciate our players on this blog. We express nicely our displeasure when they struggle, and we show love when they exceed expectations. Let’s fucking go Mets!

the mets are having an awesome season – they really turned on their jets but stayed under the radar before the all star break. i believe, even at this pace, there’s a very solid chance they can make the wild card.
I’m so happy for this team!
