NY Mets: Mets vs Blue Jays Ramblings On A Saturday Night

I’d like to think my commentary watching this game was appropriate but deep down I know that it’s really not. While my boyfriend Fred, who was on the phone with me while I was dropping so many F words and cussing more than a NYC construction worker, enjoyed this commentary, I’m actually slightly shocked yet mortified at the same time. It’s way too early in the season and I simply know better.

It’s started out with Mets SP Griffin Canning keeping it a scoreless game. By the time Jose Butto took over, I learned 2 new things. I learned that 1. one beer is enough to get my dumbass drunk and 2. I love the offense but have doubts about the pitching.

As per usual, our guy Fransisco Lindor came up big both defensively and offensively, while Alonso and Soto made their presence known but Lindor steals the show.

One thing that’s misconstrued is Soto’s defense in RF. I’ve yet to see this man give me a reason to doubt it. He made several good solid plays on hard hit balls and this whole “mid defense” seems to be quite a stretch. If the Yankees fans did all this crying like they do all over the internet about Soto leaving, you mean to tell me he sucked defensively? Cost them games?

Another huge misconception is Alonso’s defense. We see him all the time stretch to make grabs on poor throws, and make great stops at first. I personally think his defense is underlooked and underrated due to the high scrutiny and the mere fact that he’s a power hitter and that’s what most people only see.

Look I’ll be straight up with you. A drunk person’s words mean everything. It’s what sober me would never have the courage to say.

Some of you Mets fans really have to realize the good, and the bad both. I call out the bad, for sure! But the good will ALWAYS be talked about.

Cheers!

LFGM, in good and bad.
