NY Mets: Projected Player Of The Month Of April

The second place, 8-3 2025 New York Mets are really enjoying the dynamic duo of superstar Shortstop Fransisco Lindor, 31, and generational talented Right fielder Juan Soto, 26. With Lindor leading off and Soto right after, itโ€™s no shock to the baseball world that this team is starting off with their most formidable players to follow with undeniably gifted stars like Pete Alonso, 30, and Mark Vientos.

One may look at this entire lineup and wonder who may be the breakout player this month. Iโ€™ll say what stands out so far.

We already know that Lindor and Soto donโ€™t need to be in this conversation regarding โ€œbreakoutโ€.

The obvious strong start from re-signed star Alonso can signal that a breakout year is possible.

3 home runs, 11 RBI, batting .255 with a .344 OBP is pretty good for 64 plate appearances if you ask me.

Taken into consideration that Alonso backtracked in 2024 after an impressive previous 5 seasons in MLB, a breakout season is likely, considering his age and statistical factors.

The contract drama that unfolded this offseason is another indicator of a chip on his shoulder. Some fans and baseball experts consider that he has something to prove, also unfinished business within the organization as far as his career is concerned.

Iโ€™d love to say a guy like Vientos, 25, would fit this category, but Vientos is underwhelming as of late.

My mind and heart tells me Alonso is going to put up strong numbers all throughout the rest of this month. The mere fact of evidence atop logic tells me enough.

How do we know for sure? Time tells all.

To put things into perspective, several Mets have unfinished business and some have exceeded expectations time and time again. When a player with the most to prove starts off strong, itโ€™s more than likely they at least finish off the month making the most noise.
