NY Mets: Projected Breakout Candidate For Month Of June

The 2024 fourth place, 24-35, .407 New York Mets are in for one of the most awful seasons to be played in recent years. From stars such as Pete Alonso playing ice cold to Fransisco Lindor, itโ€™s safe to say the entire roster is underwhelming. One projected player will take the reins and be named projected breakout candidate for the month of June. Hereโ€™s more.

Thereโ€™s a lot to be said about leadership. A positive attitude and or a smile both can go a long way with some people. Ever since Star shortstop Fransisco Lindor called a players only team meeting, his numbers have been off the charts and his production limitless.

If anyone truly deserves to be team captain at this point, itโ€™s not Alonso, itโ€™s definitely Lindor. I donโ€™t see Alonso taking charge of the clubhouse, stepping up and being the veteran presence these guys desperately need.

Lindor, 30, has hit 1 home run with 2 RBI in the last 5 games alone. So far this season, heโ€™s hit 9 home runs, 29 RBIs, batting .231 with a .297 OBP.

Itโ€™s fine to say Lindor hasnโ€™t impressed this year so far. However, since the team meeting post the Jorge Lopez incident, Lindor has redeemed himself, proving to be the efficient leader the team needs.

I look for him to have a very solid month of June.
