The 2025 New York Mets have made it very clear to star free agent Pete Alonso, 30, that it was unwise to “bet on oneself” therefore resulting in market value plummeting.
Now, Alonso has yet to accept an offer, as he’s reportedly turned down quite a few, and his asking price is between 175-200 million.
The star had quite the disappointing 2024.
With a 2.6 WAR, he’s hit 34 home runs, 88 RBI batting .240 with a .329 OBP.
While Alonso, who remains a client of Scott Boras, a top MLB agent, is searching for a certain amount of years, the fact of the matter remains he isn’t asking for too much money overall but the amount of years he’s looking for is typically binding.
