The 2025 New York Mets can’t say they got a lot done despite signing star Outfielder Juan Soto to a 15 year $765 million dollar deal. One may argue that the 26 year old former New York Yankees outfielder can make the impossible happen, but the fact remains it takes more than one player to contend deep in the postseason. Here’s 3 reasons why more has to be done, and much more it.
- Losing Pete Alonso potentially creates a gap in the lineup and team depth chart both. Yes, The 34 home runs he hit in 2024 and those 88 RBIs counted, although it was his weakest season in Queens, the fact that that was his weakest season says a lot about his typical production numbers. Losing a player of Alonso’s caliber spells possible destruction and lack of leadership from the outside looking in.
- Starting Pitching still lacks, respectively speaking. While Sean Manaea signed a three year deal, the pressure is still on ace SP Kodai Senga, 31, to stay healthy.
- Several Mets who had a big 2024 might have a regression year. It’s going to be hard to top 2024 for both SS Francisco Lindor and Soto. Lindor, 31, had a 6.9 WAR last year, hitting 33 home runs and 91 RBIs batting .273 with a .344 OBP. While it’s possible to live large again, it’s going to be difficult if we’re being honest.
Sometimes, you have to see what the future holds and let the story write itself. Don’t expect too much of several players. If you enjoy writing or blogging, consider how you write. Do you write from your phone or do you like to have a larger screen display? I type on my iPad with a keyboard case that is 360 degrees rotational and durable for on the go blog post uploading and typing. Check this one out. For me, this case has personally changed my life and made me 80 percent more productive. I love it, and you would too.
