I’d like to start out by saying that there’s quite a few names I could choose from for player of the month of July. Heating up certainly helped star Outfielder Juan Soto’s nod for player of the month of June. Obviously big name guys like Fransisco Lindor, Edwin Diaz, and Pete Alonso come into the picture as well.
Only one, however, will be our Projected.
I feel that several New York Mets that I haven’t even discussed also have what it takes to step up and provide quality offense, defense, or both.
I will now say who I personally think this will be.
Mark Vientos, Third Baseman.
He’s only 25 years old, and has somewhat of the most promising future of all the 3B counterparts the team has. Sure, Brett Baty is also a good option, but Vientos brings the power plus has better capabilities defending the hot corner, while Baty has struggled both offensively and defensively.
With big names in the lineup around him, I expect Vientos to excel at third and showcase his offensive talent and take his career to the next level. A youthful part of a growing and evolving franchise, expect Vientos to heat up this July.
