You know the team is dreadful when you barely can pick someone “deserving”. To be quite frank, the 6 game winning streak isn’t enough to pull me back in. Sure it’s helpful and nice to see, but it’s not enough.
So let me cut this short, David Peterson has displayed a strong ability to strike out hitters, and he’s had a very good season unlike most of the rotation. Making his first All Star game appearance was certainly huge. My nod is to Peterson who stayed consistent and effective, while those around him fell apart.
Do I expect things to change for the team’s offense? Yes. If this 6 game win streak continues late in August I would like to say this season is certainly different. For now, I am not getting unrealistic expectations or setting the bar high.
