NY Mets: Ronny Mauricio tears ACL, will require surgery

Rookie Shortstop/Third Baseman Ronny Mauricio is expected to miss all of 2024 after tearing his ACL running the bases in a Dominican Winter League game, per SNYs Andy Martino.

Mauricio, 22, hit 2 home runs, 9 RBIs, had 25 hits, batted .248 in 101 at bats in 2023.

In his 5 year minor league career, Witt Syracuse and Binghamton, Mauricio hit 76 home runs, 296 RBIs, stole 63 bases, batting .268 with a .296 OBP.

This is a significant loss to the Mets as Mauricio was one of the key pieces that were in the mix for the starting third basemanโ€™s job.
