It’s May, and The fourth place, 20-25 .444 New York Mets can’t seem to do anything right. Between losing blowout games to the last place Miami Marlins and failing to capitalize on baserunners in scoring position numerous times, here’s who I think needs to be traded at this year’s trade deadline.
1. Jeff McNeil
2. Fransisco Lindor
3. Pete Alonso
4. Luis Severino
Let me give you a brief synopsis on why Alonso and Lindor should be gone.
So far this year, Alonso, 29, has a 0.4 WAR, 10 home runs, 23 RBIs, and a .230 batting average with a .308 OBP, mostly due to significant struggles this month.
Lindor had an awful start to the year, also sporting an 0.4 WAR.
The Shortstop is batting .190 with a .265 OBP.
Don’t get me started on McNeil and Severino.
All I’m saying is, change is inevitable and many times a good thing. Here, now, it’s needed badly.
