NY Mets: Pete Alonso Rumors Debunked With Statistical Evidence

The 2025 New York Mets have seen it all. From Juan Soto, 26, opening his first year in New York with a MVP caliber year, making him a finalist for the award, to Pete Alonso popping off offensively and opting out, things have been crazy. Here is a statistical viewpoint of why star 1B Alonso is not leaving Queens.

If you can recall when Alonso chose to bet on himself in 2024, he also updated his profile photo to the Florida image of his college days.

He has done it again, therefore leaving the pessimist Mets faithful concerned.

The star is represented by agent Scott Boras, who typically demands top dollar for his lucrative clients.

To my knowledge based on repeated behavior and what is typical of the business of baseball, the players are smart to make their demands noted.

This is part of the negotiation process.

And if you thought billionaire owner Steve Cohen would let homegrown talent slip away without making it right with him, you are out of your right mind.

Alonso is playing the numbers game. Cohen will likely pay him or offer something way more than typical.
