Mets vs Orioles live!!

That’ll be a double..just turned on the game to see Peterson give up a double… yikes!! The next pitch, he … More

The Mets should bring back Wilmer Flores. There’s surely a time when you regret cough trading away the heart and soul of your franchise due to defensive mishaps, correct? I won’t get aggressive here, but here’s why the Mets should reconsider and made a deal for the former hometown hero.Wilmer Flores is no stranger to walk-off heroics, strategic at-bats, and emotional moments. He infamously cried on the field in 2015 after learning he’d been traded for Carlos Gomez, however, Gomez had been plagued by a hip issue that highlighted most of his struggles and the trade did not go through. Flores instantly endeared himself to the orange and blue faithful, becoming a fan favorite. However, as the years went on, Flores’ playing time diminished as he did not get the playing time he deserved. His defensive stats suggested he was below average, but we’re not going to discuss just one flaw in his game. Here’s a look at Flores offensively. In 2015, Flores hit 16 home runs and drove in 59, owning a .263 batting average and a .269 OBP. For a bench player in 2017, he hit 18 home runs with 52 RBI’s and .307 OBP.It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell you that Flores’ offensive abilities gave him permission to lack defensively, and still start. I mean, if Daniel Murphy could do that, why couldn’t Flores? What I’m saying is, the New York Mets should be ringing the San Francisco Giants on the phone and seeing what they have to offer. It’s not like the fans would be unhappy either.
